Our Story
Imagined Things started life in Harrogate's Westminster Arcade in 2017, the town's first new independent bookshop in nearly twenty years. Five years later, the shop moved to its current bright blue home on Montpellier Parade, gaining eleven more bookcases in the process.
A single viral tweet, seen by over a million people, led to live radio and a BBC Radio 4 appearance for Georgia. She's since taken two periods of maternity leave, for daughters Ruby-Alice and Evelyn, returning to the shop in October 2024. In 2025 Imagined Things celebrated its eighth birthday, still run personally by Georgia, who handles the accounts, the admin, and meets publishers herself to choose every book on the shelf.
